The Bachelor of Arts (BA) program at S.V. Academy College is an undergraduate program affiliated with Tribhuvan University (TU). This program is designed to enhance students’ conceptual, theoretical, analytical, and methodological understanding in different areas of humanities and social sciences.
The BA program provides students with broad academic knowledge and practical skills in subjects such as Sociology, Rural Development, Political Science, Economics, Population Studies, Journalism and Mass Communication, English, and Nepali. It prepares students for professional careers in teaching, journalism, consultancy, social work, activism, NGOs, INGOs, government organizations, research, and development sectors.
The completion of the BA program also builds a strong academic foundation for higher studies, including Master’s Degree programs in Nepal and abroad.

Objectives of BA
The major objectives of the BA program are:
- To develop students’ theoretical and practical knowledge in humanities and social sciences.
- To enhance critical thinking, analytical ability, communication, and research skills.
- To prepare students for careers in teaching, journalism, social work, public service, development, and consultancy.
- To help students understand society, culture, politics, economy, media, and development issues.

Eligibility for Admission
Students who have completed Intermediate, Proficiency Certificate Level, +2, or equivalent level in Humanities, Science, Management, or any other stream from Tribhuvan University or any board/university recognized by Tribhuvan University are eligible to apply for the BA program.
Students interested in studying Major English or Economics may apply according to the eligibility requirements set by TU. Students who have studied other subjects at +2 or PCL level can apply for major subjects such as Rural Development, Social Work, Sociology, and related subjects.
Students interested in studying Journalism and Mass Communication as a major subject should meet the subject requirement as prescribed by TU and the college.
